About

I work with form, material, care, and purpose.

Grunt Work Design began as an exploration of utility—how objects are used, handled, worn, and lived with over time. I'm interested in the quiet dialogue between function and expression, where the practical demands of an object become the framework for its aesthetic rather than a limitation.

The work is rooted in precision and material honesty. I'm drawn to durable, industrial and traditional materials, chosen not for trend but for their physical presence, aging characteristics, and purpose. Design decisions are made deliberately, and with care and purpose. Nothing is added without reason; nothing is hidden for convenience.

I approach each piece as a system—considering proportion, weight, edges, and how the object occupies space and hand. Function is not secondary to form; it is the structure that gives form its meaning. Subtle variation, tooling marks, and material character are embraced as part of the work, reflecting process rather than perfection.

Grunt Work Design exists for those who value objects that are intentional, well‑made, and quietly confident—pieces that earn their place through use, clarity, and time.
